A man who… Listens Better, Cares And Works with others To Get Things Done in Rockville Bob knows that…“The solutions to many of our problems are in the hands of others in addition to ourselves. We must continue to work closely with our neighbors, our County and State representatives and those in neighboring areas, to preserve and protect the "Montgomery State of Mind”. Bob Dorsey Listens Bob hears your issues: He has promoted the rebuilding of downtown Rockville with a new library.. You said you wanted a vibrant Town Center with the appropriate balance of commercial and residential. “Alive after five”, with adequate parking, that does not encroach into nearby neighborhoods. You want less traffic congestion, and less traffic passing through our neighborhoods on the way to somewhere else. Remember, many of our roads are state, county, federal and a few are private. We must work cooperatively with others on your behalf. You want responsible management of our growth. Again it is a balancing act, businesses versus homeowners each doing their part. You want us to respect our mature neighborhoods while carefully planning to minimize the impacts of newer neighbors, changing neighborhoods and nearby business development. Bob realizes there are appropriate dimensions and considerations for rebuilt homes, which fit into the fabric of the existing neighborhoods. It makes a lot of sense for people to improve the value of their property yet not threaten the value of their neighbor’s homes. You understand the influence of others and want to contribute to constructive dialogue with county and state government. Bob has always been a firm believer in the tradition of high levels of citizen participation via volunteer boards and commissions. The world class experts in many aspects of government and private life who live here are among the people like you, who Bob listens to. Bob Dorsey Cares Bob has lived in Rockville since 1972. He understands mature neighborhoods concerns. Bob retired after 27 years working at IBM, in order to devote more time to the community. He understands how busy you are, advocates on your behalf, won't waste your time, and will not disappoint you.. Bob volunteers as a computer trainer at the Montgomery Avenue Women's Center. As a senior citizen himself, he walks the walk with other seniors. His priority is to protect the quality of life of all of Rockville’s citizens. Getting Things Done Better Bob is a graduate of Montgomery College and the International Tabulating Institute.
